Josh Toohey has been forecasting and following severe weather closely since Cyclone Debbie impacted Queensland in 2017. What started as a personal passion for severe weather and tropical meteorology has developed into almost a decade of hands-on experience analysing weather patterns, forecast models, satellite imagery and major weather events across Australia.
Josh's strength is making complicated weather information easy to understand. Forecast models, synoptic charts, satellite imagery and atmospheric data can be difficult to interpret. Josh breaks it down into clear, plain-English information that explains what is actually happening, what is likely to happen next, and what it means for you, your family and your property.
The purpose of CyclonesOZ is simple: provide free, independent weather coverage to Australians, regardless of where they live or what they can afford. The Front Line builds on this with earlier warnings, more detailed forecasts and direct access to Josh ahead of significant weather affecting your location.
Josh is also pioneering live severe weather coverage in Australia. The format has become a major part of weather coverage in the United States, but has never been established in Australia at this scale.
